7 Food Art Ideas that Kids will love

In todays era, where pizza, pasta, burger are easily available..kids do not want to indulge or rather dont like eating our desi food.
Forget them, we too sulk in the pool of desserts and have those cheat days. But we wan’t our kids to adopt good and healthy eating habits. And when they don’t we term them as fussy eaters.
Having said that, i am sharing these 7 Food Art Ideas that Kids will love so that we as parents can ensure to develop good and healthy eating habits in our children, at the same time keep them excited and happy.
7 FOOD ART IDEAS THAT KIDS WILL LOVE
1. DOSA – SWANS ON THE PLATE
Out of the seven, this is one of the best food art ideas that kids will love. Inspired from Kiaan’s favourite story book “The Ugly Duckling”, I have created this food art.
All you need is Dosa Batter and squeeze bottle. Pour the dosa batter into the squeeze bottle and lock it well. Once the tawa is hot, pour the batter in the shape of the duck. Once cooked just trim it with scissors and place it on the plate.
Well i have used Carrots and Makhana ( Lotus seeds ) to make fishes and corals, you can make use of any veggie of your choice and the swan foodart is ready
2. FRUITS – THE OWL in LOVE
Kids refrain from eating fruits these days. I don’t blame them since there are a lot of distractions in form of biscuits, chips etc. However we can act a little smarter by creating a tempting foodart.
I have made two owl using fruits like pineapple, apple and strawberries. To add a little more flavour i have used cheese and cadbury balls to make the eyes of the owl
3. NUTELLA – CAR
Who does not love nutella. We too love the flavour. So i have made a combination snack for my child using multigrain bread, nutella and apple. The idea is to strike the right balance and viola my kid did finished the plate.
4. WATERMELON – CABLE CAR TO SWISS
Beating the summer heat is possible if we hydrate ourselves well with juices, fruits, yogurt, buttermilk. My 2 year old never preferred watermelon and getting him to eat one was a huge task. This foodart aroused a lot of curiosity in him as i had showed him what cable car was, he got super excited and ate it all.
5. RICE SABZI PLATTER – MEOW GOES THE CAT
Most of the time i get many request from mom who tell me to create foodart with our daily meal – the roti, sabzi, dal and rice. Kiaan is fascinated with kitty and hence i chose to make this foodart for him keeping in mind of our traditional food system
6. TOMATO RICE – YOGA POSE
For Kiaan rice means plain white steamed rice, If i make pulao or biryani or even just add turmeric, he will refuse to eat it. This makes me loose my sanity .
So on the international yoga day, i tired to keep calm and make this girl practising yoga made from tomato pulav and adding his favorite jaggery biscuits by early foods . Kiaan did not eat the whole plate but manged to eat couple of morsels.
7. CORN – MR. & MRS BHUTTA
It’s monsoon season now, and we all relish on yummy bhutta available roadside. Well this is my favourite and Kiaan’s as well, however just for the love of food i made this foodart. After all foodart is not only about fussy eating it is also about being happy.
These were the 7 Food Art Ideas that Kids will love, hope you enjoyed and plan to make some of the foodarts for your child as well.
