8 easy and healthy oats recipe for toddlers and kids

I have started an initiative on my instagram account with 3 mom bloggers to share some healthy recipes for kids under the #tasty4munchkins. The idea is we want moms to give an easy platform to access recipes and solve their meal planning problems with the recipes we provide. On that note we have currently shared few oats recipe for kids which i would be sharing here too. So this post will cover 8 easy and healthy oats recipe for toddlers and kids.

Before I begin, let me tell you why we chose Oats as our first ingredient to begin the #tast4munchkins series.

  • Oats can be considered as a baby weaning food and can be given to babies as young as 7 months
  • It’s easily digestible as oatmeals tend to cause less constipation in babies
  • It’s rich in micronutrients such as phosphorus, magnesium, manganese, calcium, iron, selenium, zinc and copper, which give children a well-rounded nutritional profile
  • It’s a versatile ingredient which can be blended with other food supplements offering various textures to babies

. Hey lovelies! So here's the first post under #tasty4munchkins . Me along with @themagicplatter @foodkathaz and @foodieskitchenkatta have come up with this new venture where we want to help every mommy out there who is constantly searching for some healthy recipes for their kids! . For this month we are sharing recipes with oats as a main ingredient!We all know the goodness of oats and why we should give it to our kids! I don't want to talk about it here😇 . We mommies are here to show you that oats can be used in numerous ways rather than just preparing the good old porridge! So do try our recipes and let us know if your little one and you loved it as much as we did! . So, the recipe for the day is Oats cutlets/patties: Dry roast one cup of oats and set aside! Pressure cook 2 small sized potatoes, peel the skin off and set aside! You will also need: ✔️ 1 chopped onion ✔️ 1 carrot, grated ✔️ Half beetroot, grated ✔️ 1 cup peas ✔️Bunch of spinach leaves, chopped ✔️ Handful of coriander leaves, chopped ✔️Juice of half a lemon For flavouring: ✔️Salt to taste ✔️ Pinch of chilly powder ✔️Pinch of garam masala You also need fine sooji for rolling the patties! In a wide bowl, add everything mentioned above except the sooji and mix well! Prepare patties out of the mix and roll it in semolina and shallow fry it using a little bit of desi ghee. Hey lovelies! So on today's #tastytuesdayswithpria I'm going to share this milkshake recipe which is apt for all those babies who are lactose intolerant! . You guys must be knowing about #tasty4munchkins series, where we 4 mommies are sharing some healthy recipes for kids using oats as the main ingredient! . So on today's recipe, it's going to be this rich milkshake which is high in protein, free from lactose and can easily be served as after school snack for kids! . Recipe: Blend in handful of almonds,raisins pistachios,walnuts,chia seeds and dates into a fine paste in a grinder jar! Next in blending jar, add in one cup of oats and the grinded mixture along with one cup of water and blend into a smooth consistency! This week we will be posting Oats recipes. I am sharing this quick and easy meal which has always been a huge success with my son. The batter doesn't need fermentation and the best part is, it contains Oats flour so it's perfect for those kids (or even adults 😉) who doesn't like Oats. 😊 There you go peeps – Ingredients – 🍒 1/2 cup Semolina 🍒 1/2 cup Oats flour 🍒 1 cup yogurt 🍒 1/2 finely chopped onion 🍒 1/2 finely chopped carrot 🍒 1 small chilli 🌶 (Optional) 🍒 few chopped curry leaves 🍒 finely chopped coriander 🍒 salt to taste Steps – Mix everything together, grease idli pot and make idlis. 💠 No bake Oats granola bars 💠 Our #tasty4munchkins series continues today with another week of Oats recipes. Don't forget to check out first recipe posted on lovely @themommysphere. Here are quick,healthy and insanely delicious granola bars for the little ones or even adults in the family. These no bake granola bars are perfect for a quick snack and even on the road. We all in the family are obsessed over these bars. So here's the recipe for it however feel free to experiment with it – Ingredients – 🍒 1 cup rolled/quick oats 🍒 1/2 cup pitted dates (you can soak it if you want) 🍒 1/4 cup peanut/almond butter 🍒 4 tbsp pumpkin seeds 🍒 3 tbsp flaxmeal 🍒 3 tbsp honey or maple syrup 🍒 handful of dried cranberries 🍒 grated dry coconut to sprinkle Steps – ⏺️Add Oats, dates, peanut butter, pumpkin seeds, flaxmeal and honey in food processor. ⏺️Blend until it all comes together. Remove in the flat container lined with parchment paper. Pat it down well evenly. Ask kids to help out.🤗 ⏺️Add chopped cranberries on top and sprinkle some coconut. Pat it down to the batter. ⏺️ Put it in the fridge for 30 minutes to firm up. Remove and cut it into desired shape. Done! You can store these in the fridge for one week and even store it in freezer for grab and go snack for the kids, mommies and daddies too😍😍. Hey friends.. . Many of you demanded recipes from me.. So I along with 3 other mom bloggers @themommysphere , @foodieskitchenkatta And @foodkathaz have decided to share some yummy recipes for the little tots using #tasty4munchkins . This month we are sharing recipes that has one of the most kid friendly ingredients i. e OATS. And I am sure you and your little ones are going to lick your fingers. . So we have already posted 2 recipes and this is the 3rd one today – PALAK OATS CHILLA . INGREDIENTS ✨1 cup oats ✨1 small bunch of Palak leaves ✨1/2 cup curd ✨1/4 cup rice flour ✨1/4 cup semolina/rawa ✨1/4 cup onions (chopped slices) ✨1/4 cup grated cheese ✨2 cups water ✨1 tbsp chopped coriander ✨1tsp jeera ✨1tsp oil ✨salt and pepper to taste ✨1-2 green chillies optional ( for kid who eat green chillies) . METHOD ✨Mix oats, curd, rice flour, semolina, coriander, jeera, chillies and water together and keep aside for 10 mins ✨In the mean time, blanch the Palak leaves and mix it in the grinder to make a puree ✨Add the puree to the oats mixture. Also add salt and pepper. ✨In a pan, brush the oil on the surface and pour in some of the mixture ✨Add sliced onion and let it cook for 2 mins ✨ Toss it and allow the other side to cook ✨Once more, toss it to the original side and add in some grated cheese ✨once the cheese melts a little, remove from the pan and serve it hot with some green chutney or ketchup ✨Oats Palak chilla is ready to be served . The recipe is easy, quick and most importantly, healthy. . Hope you all love this recipe. Oats Coconut Ladoo

As you all know we four moms @themommysphere @foodkathaz @foodieskitchenkatta have started #tasty4munchkins Series where we will be sharing kids recipes. .. .. So we have 7 oats recipes already uploaded on the #tasty4munchkins And this is the final oats series… Because from next week it's a new ingredient which will be sharing the details soon .. .. This is one of the easiest recipe that just takes 10 mins to make and my toddlers favourite one too, I have been giving Kiaan since he was a year old and he relishes it very much. So here we go… .. .. COCONUT OATS JAGGERY LADOO .. ✔️INGREDIENTS ✨ 1 cup grated coconut ✨ 1 cup jaggery ✨ 1 cup instant oats ✨ 1 tbsp cardamom powder ✨ 1 tbsp ghee ✨ 2 tbsp mix nuts powder (optional) ✨ 1 tbsp water .. ✔️METHOD ✨ dry roast the oats till they smell good. Cool it completely. Powder it in dry blender till it is smooth ✨In a pan, add Jaggery, Coconut and water. Stirling the mixture till the Jagger melts and the mixture gets little sticky ✨switch off the gas and add the powdered oats, cardamom powder, ghee, nuts to the mixture and Stir well ✨once the mixture is partially cooled start making small balls by greasing your hand with ghee so the mixture does not stick to your hands ✨ let it cool and store it in an airtight container. The coconut oats Jaggery laddo is ready to serve .. Hope you enjoyed the oats series and coming up with recipes using various fresh ingredients.
