Let me be very honest, it is very little I know about Halloween. But from whatever I have read, the following is my understanding of the festival. Halloween is a time of celebration and superstition. It is believed it was originated during the ancient celtic […]

Learn to make some Fun DIY activity with Veggies for the Kids below three years of Age
This one is a simple DIY activity where you need just two material. A pack of Flash Cards and Real Vegetables. This is a DIY which focuses on introducing vegetables to the kids. It even works for me when my kid is fussy and refuses to eat something and I show him the flash card. It makes him happy for the fact he knows it, it is his card and may take 5-6 morsels instead of completely rejecting the food.
I have printed and laminated the pictures of fruits and vegetables as shown in the picture. All you have to do is lay down the cards in a row. The child has to select the fruit/vegetable that matches to the corresponding picture. This is also a fun language exercise as you can give the child the fruit/vegetable, name it, then the child will repeat it ant match it with the corresponding card. The good part is you can teach varied languages too so for example Kiaan has still not learnt POTATO but manages to say ALOO which is a learning in itself.
You can start with 2 flash cards to 20 depending upon your child curiosity and his age group. You can also create an advance level to the game. Where you can have a flash card of Alphabets and ask kids to match which fruits/ vegetables start with the letter A, B, C …

A child’s education stretches far beyond the four walls of the classroom. At this age kids are very much interested into the environment they live and play. This is more of creative development activity to entice the mind of the blooming buds. It’s a fun way to develop your chid’s artistic learning and encourage them to think in more challenging and creative manner .
In this activity I have planned to make a CACTI using a CUCUMBER. All you need is some tooth pics and any small bead shape red colour fruit like cherries or jelly sweet etc. In my case i have made use of dry raspberry which had little coating of sugar.
Cut the cucumber in two halves. Keep one half with you and give the other half to your kid. Take some toothpicks and cut the pointed ends with scissors so that it does not hurt your child (do this before you begin the activity). Take the toothpicks and pierce the same in the cucumber and remove it from the other end. Do it randomly with no perfect length and lining. Take the dryfruit berries and stick to the top or anywhere in the cacti which resonates flower. Once ready you can choose to eat the cucumber after you had a fun play with it or just smile on your creativity wits.
I already made one for Kiaan, and he was busy exploring it. He ate the dried berries in a jiffy. Then I taught him to remove the sticks which he did and managed to eat half of the cucumber with no salt needed. For those who don’t know my kid is 1.5 years and it was a fun bonding session with him and I enjoyed every bit of it.
