Whole Wheat Dryfruit Cookies Recipes for Kids and Adults
Most of us have been cooking varieties this quarantine season. With loads of experiment going on the kitchen, I seem to have mastered baking whole wheat dryfruit cookies.
 
 
As  a mom I always felt the need to make home made , no preservative, healthy food for my child. And since he is growing up fast now, biscuits, chocolates, icecreams are always on his list of eatables. Rather then saying no to my child I prefer to make it healthy or atleast do it my way.. after all I dont want him to be addicted to brands and processed foods.
 
 
 
So after my instagram friend @mommybaker shared this wheat cookie recipe on her feed, I decided to go for it 
and voila its turning up too yummy, crunchy and tempting to our tastebuds. The entire credit of the recipe goes on her. I just did mild tweaking here and there to suit our needs
 


Whole wheat dryfruit Cookies Recipe for kids and adults 

Ingredients:
1/2 cup wholewheat flour (atta)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 cup soft butter
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tbsp milk
1/4 cup mix dry fruits 

Directions:
1. Preheat the oven at 180 degree Celsius.
2. In a bowl, sieve together wholewheat flour and baking soda. Keep aside.
3. In another bowl, beat together butter and sugar for 5 minutes. Batter should be fluffy and light colored.
4. Add milk in the above mixture and beat for 2 more minutes.
5. Mix wholewheat flour mixture to the above mixture and mix them well with hands. The dough will be soft.
6. Add dry fruits of your choice and mix well.
7. Roll small balls of the cookie dough and flatten them to shape of your choice.

8. These cookies dont spread out, so you can choose the desired thickness, shape and size of the cookie
9. Arrange the cookies on baking sheet or greased baking paper and bake for  15mins in total

10. First 10 minutes with bake on the bottom heat setting only and the last 5 minutes at both top and bottom heat setting. 
11.Take it out of the oven and let them cool completely. Initially they will be soft but will harden as they cool down.

Well I hope you too are motivated now to make such an easy peasy recipe for your child. Next I am going to experiment using Jaggery instead of powdered sugar, maybe use choco chips or seeds in place of dryfruits.
All you need is just 10 mins of preparation and rest 15 to 20 mins let the oven do its job.
